Pure Stocks — Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Pure Stocks desktop app (Windows), the Pure Stocks iOS app, and
this website, together referred to as "Pure Stocks." It explains what data is collected,
how it's used, and where it's stored.
Who runs this
Pure Stocks is operated by Perception Media. If you have questions about this

What information is collected
- Watchlist symbols — the stock tickers you add (e.g. AAPL, MSFT).
- Alert settings — any price or percentage alert values you set for a stock.
- A contributor label — an identifier (e.g. "User1," or your device name)
used to tell your entries apart from anyone else using the same shared dashboard. This is
not tied to your real name unless your device's name includes it (e.g. "John's iPhone") —
you can rename your device in iOS Settings if you'd rather it not include your name.
- Notification email (desktop app only) — if you choose to enter an email
address for alert notifications, it's stored locally on your computer and used only to
send you alert emails.
Pure Stocks does not collect your name, physical address, payment information, or any data
beyond what's listed above. There are no analytics SDKs, ad trackers, or third-party marketing
tools built into the app or website.
Where this data is stored
- On your device — your watchlist and settings are saved locally (as a
settings file on Windows, or in the app's local storage on iOS) so they persist between
launches.
Third-party services used
- Yahoo Finance — stock prices, historical charts, and ticker search are
fetched directly from Yahoo Finance's public data endpoints. Standard network information
(like your device's IP address) is visible to Yahoo as part of any web request, the same
as visiting any website — no additional personal data is sent.
- Email delivery (desktop app only) — if you set a notification email, alert
emails are sent through our SMTP mail provider. The email address you enter is used only
for this purpose.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
Push notifications (iOS)
Alert notifications on iOS are generated locally on your device while the app is open — they
do not pass through Apple's push notification servers and no alert data is transmitted to
Apple for this purpose.
Your choices
- You can remove any stock from your watchlist at any time, which also removes your entry
for that stock from the shared dashboard.
- You can clear the notification email field at any time to stop alert emails.
- Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data from your device. Data already synced
to the website will remain until removed from the dashboard.
Children's privacy
Pure Stocks is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information
from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top will be revised. Continued use of
Pure Stocks after changes means you accept the updated policy.
